The Universe Works in Mysterious Ways. Once You See It, You Can't Unsee It

This morning started pretty normal. Teamwork with hubby to get the kids ready for school and kindy. After drop off I had planned a supermarket trip.
Pick up a few things. Shopping list ready. In and out. Easy.
But of course, it’s never as easy as that. As someone who day dreams (a lot) it’s very easy to get distracted.
There were 2 young men standing outside the supermarket fund-raising for a charity.
Ohh they were there yesterday when I went to the supermarket… I wonder if its the same 2 people… Interesting, maybe I’ll donate on the way out.
I take a trolley and enter Countdown (it’s now called Woolworths, but I will forever remember it as Countdown).
Hhmmm… what do I need? We have plenty of apples… ohhh mushrooms, that’s on the list. And beef…
I tick off every item in my mental shopping list. Completely forgetting I had actually written down a shopping list.
Sweet! I’m done! Time to pay and head home.
As I walk out, the 2 young men try to stop me to donate to their charity. I give them a big smile as if to say “No Thanks” and walk away.
Maybe I’ll put the groceries in the car and find some cash to donate…
I didn’t go back to donate.
I go home, and I put my shopping away.
Shit. I forgot the oranges… and corn…
They were on the shopping list I wrote down. I need to go back to Countdown.
And there was a little voice inside that said… donate to the charity.
The Generational Money Wound.
Money is a commodity that many of us have learned (through our parents and society), to be precious and valuable. If you have money, you can provide for the family. You can do everything that you wish for. Working hard at your 9 to 5 takes you out of poverty. Money buys you happiness. But most importantly, you need money to survive.
Growing up with hard-working immigrant parents, money was earned and saved to fund investments such as education and physical assets.
If it gives a good return, it is worth the investment. So my parents invested in our education in the hopes that we will get a high paying job. They invested in property to safeguard their money. Investments were well thought out and based on their perceived interest in return.
Charities did not fit in this category. I don’t remember donating or being part of charity groups as a child. I was taught to work hard and to make money. That’s how you survive. If you are working hard at treading water, how can you help others?
So I grew up believing that donating to people in need isn’t a priority. My own survival was the priority.
Selfish way of seeing it, I know, but it’s a generational belief that has kept my parents and ancestors safe.
But that little voice still said… donate to the charity.
Thoughts aren’t made in the mind, it’s made through the body.
I’ve realised recently that the first thought that “pops in” is usually my intuition speaking to me. Any other arguments that come up afterwards is my ego talking me out of it.
Why? Because thoughts are simply our brains attempting to transduce frequencies into language. That first hit is data that your body picks up as frequencies. Your senses see, feel, hear, taste and smell first before your brain can make sense of it. So you feel it in your body before it becomes a reality.
Spirituality calls this your intuition. Quantum Biology suggests that the body is an antenna that interacts with the “Universal Field” to receive information.
So in other words, your intuition is your body’s way of interacting with the subtle frequencies held within the “Universal Field.”
Your brain then makes sense of it and “shows” you in a way that you will understand. This is the thought process of a thought.
When the intuitive hit comes it creates an emotional response and the nervous system reacts accordingly. The “ego arguments” that follow, convincing you to not donate, not to trust, not to move, is your nervous system creating safety within the parameters of your subconscious mind/ programming.
So it pays to listen to that first hit that you feel in your body - your intuition.
Trusting my intuition.
I take a $5 note, the closest note I could find and return to Countdown. This time I bike. It starts to rain.
Fuck it. If I get wet, I can get wet. It’s fun to bike in the rain anyway.
I re-enter Countdown and pick up the rest of my shopping list. And a few other things… because a quick supermarket shop means quick impulse buys.
This time on the way out, I stopped at the charity stand and showed interest in donating. The young man with striking blue eyes was surprised. He must have recognised me as the lady who walked past 10 minutes ago with the “No Thanks” smile.
The charity helps children with disabilities such as cystic fibrosis access rehab activities like swimming lessons and physiotherapy. Government funding through ACC isn’t available for children born with disabilities, so these children need private funding to access therapies.
Knowing more about the charity made me feel better about donating. But when I saw the minimum donation is $40… my conditioning started screaming.
You don’t have $40 to spend on charities. You were only expecting to donate $5. It’s not an investment for your future. With the economy as it is right now, you should hold onto that $40. Plus your job isn’t paying you enough to spend carelessly.
Idiot. But now if you don’t donate, you’ll look like the fraud that you are.
Is there a smaller amount to donate?
Ohhhh shut up “Negative Nancy”.
Money as Energy.
Money is just energy. Everything is just energy vibrating at different frequencies appearing as nothingness and matter at the same time. Quantum theories are showing this, spiritual texts infer this. Old conditioning and paradigms are what limits the flow of energy.
We inherit the “financial thermostat” of our ancestors as their environment, (whether at a societal level, individual level or country propaganda), cemented a belief of lack which shows up as behavioural habits and continues to live and be passed down to subsequent generations.
In terms of finances, it may look like family traits of being stingy, saving money and holding onto it too tightly.
That $40 donation showed me a generational belief that money is only worth spending if it’s a valuable investment with return.
If it was a $40 toy for my kids, or a $40 present for a friend’s birthday, I would happily spend it. “Negative Nancy’s” pragmatism is right though, I probably should save my $40 (we have an overseas trip coming up). It is just easier to justify $40 on friends and family because I see value in the relationship. Their time and company is worth more than $40.
But children born with disabilities should have the same rights. We are all people and everyone deserves to feel loved and valued. Plus everything is energy, so technically, we are all the same. No matter your status.
And if you have a belief, shouldn’t that apply to all aspects of your life… unconditionally?
So when you say one thing, but then do another, wouldn’t that limit your capabilities? At the end of the day, your body doesn’t react to the belief, it reacts to the frequency of the belief. By doing something different to what you say you believe in, your body simply follows the flow of the frequency of what you are doing. Not the belief.
This may be why many people find that their income is capped to a specific figure. Even if you have a big sum of money coming through, energetically you can’t hold it, and the money disappears through excess spending, repaying debt, or gifting it away.
Just like the energy/ electricity in the nervous system is constantly fighting for homeostasis, It’s the same for every other energy flow throughout your life. Money, relationships, work, children, time. If there is a block in one area, it will cap your ability to receive abundance.
Old beliefs need to be broken down and old programming rewired before you are able to hold more abundance, more money.
Breaking down the walls that keep you small opens you up to unimaginable opportunities.
Where there’s flow, there’s abundance. Where there’s no flow, there’s stagnation.
I get to choose to trust in the flow of energy, or stay in stagnation for the sake of $40.
The Energetic Shift.
I’ll donate the $40 option for swimming lessons.
The young man with striking blue eyes enters my details.
To fill in the awkward silences, we engage in small talk.
I realise that “Negative Nancy” has stopped talking. That I’m not worrying about all the reasons why $40 was breaking my bank. Instead, I’m thinking about how transformative it would be for the children. The excitement they will have when they get to go swimming. I feel like I’ve done something good.
I hop on my bike to return home. Because I had mentioned I’m an intuitive healer, I say to him
If you ever feel the need for some healing session, find me through Instagram.
Maybe he will, maybe he won’t.
But it’s in these subtle interactions that the universe is working for us.
You might say it is a normal human interaction, or a coincidence that an “aha moment” happened after this experience.
Maybe I am trying to find meaning in EVERYTHING, but everything does happen for a reason and will always be for your greater good. A lesson will be there if you take notice and these small synchronistic moments are where healing happens. Every “insignificant” thought, every ping you feel in your body, are potential signs for growth.
Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
To be honest, I was a little afraid of sharing this story because of a fear of being judged as stingy. But it’s the courage to speak and act the truth that breaks down the energetic walls. When you follow through with your belief, energy will flow and you will start building something stronger. Better.
You get to choose whether you want to redirect the energy flow or stay confined by the story of your ancestors.
By following my intuition and the “flow” of $40, I’m not just helping a charity, I am rewriting my generational story of lack.
Now, I hope it wasn’t a scam. 🤣
