Beyond the Commodity: Reclaiming the Love in the Dark

The Metamorphosis Series: Part 4 - I explore the "black hole" where we hide our joy and the moment the lesson finally lands. It’s time to stop treating love as a transaction and start soaring as the person you were always meant to be.

Note: This is the finale of The Metamorphosis Series. You can catch up on the journey from the beginning with [Part 1], [Part 2], and [Part 3]. Today, the lesson lands with full force as the horse transforms into a Pegasus.

When the lesson is learned, it lands; either with full force, or as a quiet reminder of the person you've become. Either way, you have upgraded from a horse that can fly to a pegasus that soars the highest heights.

Healing can be a very daunting idea especially if you are not ready to begin your journey. Even if you have been on this journey for years, there are still parts of self that don't want to be addressed.

As I mentioned in the previous blog article… change is scary. The unknown is a frightening void to be in.

Lately, I have been seeing the theme of “Love” showing up everywhere in my life. From weddings to conversations with friends, intuitive healing sessions and the tarot card readings selected by my algorithm on social media.

Often, the themes you see around you are themes that you are going through internally.

Searching for the acceptance of love has been a major theme in my life. I have tried finding love in other people and learnt that love is conditional.

“If you are a good girl, then I will love you.”

I wasn't likely told this, but my hurt inner child translated all the words and actions that confirmed this bias.

All the good memories of joy and love were thrown down a black hole hidden from consciousness.

Today, I realised that that's what I've been doing.

Every moment of unconditional love and joy that didn't fit the mould of the bias was trapped in there.

All those times I had fun as a child. The love I felt from others, the love of myself… all traversing through a black hole portal and reaching no end.

That shows up as being unable to receive and deserve love. It shows up as pushing love away and having a deep loath of self.

Other times, we trap ourselves inside a loop that disguises love as disappointment, insufficiency, and unworthiness.

Either way, love becomes a commodity that is transactional. We search for it as payments, expecting an exchange conditional to our needs. We learn that love is out of reach.

But how can we know what love feels like when we have lost touch with it?

I guess that's part of the hero's/ heroine's journey.

Returning to self is a journey of returning to self love.

When you can love every part of yourself - all the good and the ugly - that's when you learn to love unconditionally.

It's not easy to learn by yourself. So if you find that person who loves unconditionally, hold onto them. Learn from them. They will be one of your greatest guides in your life.

This lesson has hit me at full force, making me feel like I'm walking on stilts.

Time will tell whether I have fully embodied this lesson, as my heroine's journey is ongoing.

But there is nothing more beautiful than feeling your heart, completely full and overflowing with love. You literally glow.

So I end this 4 part series with a reminder that you are “love”. Every part of you, even those you hate or are disappointed in is also love.

This is because love has no bounds. Love is simply a truth that sets you free - transforming you from a horse that can fly, to a pegasus that can soar.

It is who you be.

The Journey Continues…

Healing is a hero's/ heroine’s journey, and you don’t have to go at it alone. I am currently building a community where I share my knowledge and weave it with yours. It is a safe, non-judgmental space to share experiences, dismantle old walls, and heal together.

If any part of this series resonated with you and you are ready for the next step, get in touch.

Details to follow. Let’s learn how to soar.
